SEN Teaching Assistant - ASC Experience

Job description

A larger than average primary school in the Firswood area of Trafford (M16) is looking for a full time teaching assistant to join their team on a full time basis ASAP. This full time teaching assistant position will run for the remainder of the academic year.

The successful candidate will be expected to support a Year 4 child on a 1:1 basis who has severe ASC. The child often shows challenging behaviours and works from a tailored EHCP. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with specific needs and will be required to work closely with the schools SENCO to monitor and assess the child's progression.

The role is to work in a lovely, 3 form entry primary school. The school encourages all children to 'enjoy learning' and aims to make its pupils 'resilient, life-long learners.' The school are looking for a friendly, proactive support assistant who is flexible and who works well as part of a team.

To be considered for this position, you will:

  • Have prior experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Be able to adapt learning to suit the needs of the child
  • Have the ability to implement strong behaviour management techniques where necessary
  • Be eager to develop your career in education
