Are you a Fully Qualified Teacher with some SEN experience, or a passion about a new challenge in an SEN school?
If so we would love to hear from you, as we are working with SEN schools, Alternative Provisions and Pupil Referral Units across Derby City.
We are ideally looking for teachers who will be able to help with day to day and short term supply requirements, however we will also welcome applications from people looking for longer term roles as well, as we also support our schools for long term positions.
The ideal candidate for this type of work will be:
- Fully Qualified Teacher with QTS
- Experience working as a teacher in whole class settings, ideally with some experience working in SEN provisions (including Altnerative Provisions and Pupil Referral Units)
- An understanding of SEN, including ASC, MLD, SEMH and PMLD
- Confidence to undertake various supply requriement, working in different schools and adapting to the school ethos
- Willingness to ensure marking and planning is undertaken (where necessary - this is not always an expectation of our supply teacher, depending on the placement)
- Ability to work across a veriaty of age groups, as many of our SEN schools cater for 5 - 19 year olds
- Confidence to deal with challenging behaviour and have an understanding of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and how these can cause barriers to education
- Able to deal confidently with safeguarding allegations accordingly, where necessary
- Willing to adapt to each school environment and staying in school until the classroom is tidy and all children have safely left the premises
- Willingness to attend staff briefings, meetings and parents evenings, where applicable (if on a longer term role)
- Generally support with the wellbeing of all pupils in the school
- Work effectively and collaboratively with other school staff, in particular Teaching Assistants

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
