SEN Teacher – Hayes

-          Start: 2nd March 2022

-          Pay: £150-£180 pd

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

-          This caring and committed school is recruiting for an experienced, resilient, and personable SEN Teaching Assistant to join their special school in Hayes for students aged 3-11 years

-          This school creates a welcoming, positive, and co-operative learning environment that supports the physical and emotional wellbeing of pupils with a range of needs including ASD, emotional behavioural difficulties and mild learning difficulties.  It provides a visionary, inclusive learning environment that recognises and adapts to the needs of every individual. They endeavour to give all their students experiences that will help them to understand their world, to become self-confident and to be equipped to lead the lives they want to live in the future.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • You will be teaching a Ks2 class of 10 students with mixed complex SEN needs including ASD, MLD and speech and language difficulties.  
  • Many have sensory processing needs and will display some challenging behaviour.
  • The class will be following an informal curriculum. Strategies need to be in place for all learners.
  •  Work closely with teachers to ensure that they are aware of the needs of pupils with social communication needs in their class.
  • Provide advice and curriculum support so that pupils with ASC + SLD can access a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Manage members of the ASC provision team and work closely with the other staff to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Start date: 2nd March 2022

Person specification:

  • Qualified teacher with SEN experience.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing strategies for students with SEN.
  • Passionate commitment to the academic, personal and social development of young people with a range of SEN.
  • Demonstrate consistent and effective planning of lessons to meet students differing learning needs
