Autism Teacher

We are currently working with a maintained special school that caters for 127 pupils, (over two sites – Southgate and a provision at Winchmore School) from the age range of 11-19. We are a secondary autism specific provision in the borough of Enfield. In conjunction with Enfield Local Authority, the school has recently developed a brand new site in Southgate. This is a state of the art autism provision with facilities such as a rebound therapy room, sensory integration room, life skills and creative art rooms.

Their passion is to ensure that all the pupils attending are supported to manage themselves, be resilient as well as achieve academically to the best of their ability.

The school promotes a holistic environment for young people with autism, their families and the necessary outside agencies. It offers a person-centred curriculum that enables all students supported by their families to achieve and forge their own path into society and adulthood.

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced teacher to join the ranks here from September 2020 and help in making a difference in these student's lives each day. The candidate must be a fully qualified either primary or secondary teacher, with at least 1 years experience having worked with SEN students. Teachers with experience of PECS, Makaton and BSL are highly desireable but this is not a necessity.

This is a full-time monday-friday position with PPA.

The ideal candidate:

-Must have Qualified Teacher Status

-Must have at least 1 years experience working with students with SEN (preferably Autism specific)

-Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one

-Must have right to work in the UK

-Must be friendly and approachable

Day Rates: GBP120-160
