Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a teacher who can deliver Functional Skills.
The position is based at a school in the Brighton area and they are looking for someone who is flexible and can meet the school and pupils ever changing needs.
We require someone who is collaborative and has a person centred approach. The school itself supports pupils aged 5 years all the way up to 25 years, all of whom have an individual Educational Health Care Plan. All pupils have additional needs that include complex needs, Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.
Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.
Schools require on and off support throughout the year depending on student intake and staffing needs, so there is always opportunity for contract extension and permanent roles for staff who are a great asset to the school.

Responsibilities
Working with pupils to design a tailored Functional Skills learning plan to suit their individual needs
Carrying out assessments
Preparing innovative teaching materials
Using teaching resource, worksheets and ICT to get the most from pupils
Working with a team of support staff to ensure learning objectives are met
Carrying out marketing, administrative tasks and keeping accurate records
Providing pastoral support to vulnerable students
Requirements
An outstanding teacher With qualified teacher status Proven experience of teaching KS3 and KS4
