Job description

**SEN Teaching Assistant - Oldham (OL15) - ASAP start**

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Position
  • Experience working with challenging behaviours essential
  • Full Time Position, Start after Half-Term

This larger than average sized Primary School is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with mild ADHD. The individual will need to have prior experience of working with children with behavioural difficulties and also be comfortable with working on a 1:1 basis.

The school is overseen by a committed and passionate Head teacher, who values and supports the staff. Ofsted have rated the school as 'Good' and the children are currently performing above the Local Authority.

Pupils are very respectful and are well behaved. They have a good understanding of their rights and responsibilities and are eager to learn.

The school is looking for some one who has experience supporting children with SEN, specifically ADHD. The child can be easily distracted, and needs additional support to help access the curriculum and stay on task at all times. The child can show challenging behaviour occasionally so the ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to assisting teaching and will be able to build good working relationships.

To be considered for the position you must:

  • Have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Have a proactive approach to assisting teaching with an ability to respond well to challenging behaviour
  • Team teach training desirable
