SEN Teaching Assistant needed to work in an Autistic (ASC) Pupil in a mainstream Oldham primary school.

Support the year 3 pupil with engagement in lessons and relationships with other children.

Rewarding role, working with a pupil with Autism (ASC) with isolated behaviour and needs and poor communication skills.

Full time role working within the provision, well supported by a specialist team working in the unit including a Teacher and a small team of specialist LSAs

A mainstream Primary School in the Oldham is looking to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in their specialist Autism provision. The provision is part of the school and caters for the needs of 6-10 pupils from EYFS to Key Stage 2 who have statements or Education Health and Care Plans for Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

The provision is well resourced, with one Teacher and a small team of specialist support staff. You will be working with a small number of pupils within the provision to ensure their learning needs are being met, inclusion is well supported and any social or speech and language needs are being met. The provision aim to provide routine in a nurturing learning environment, where the pupil's feel calm and secure.

To be considered for this full time position it is essential that you have experience supporting pupils with Autism. This experience could either be in a mainstream school setting, special school setting or specialist autism provision. You will be confident with different approaches to learning with pupils with ASC; removing barriers to learning where possible through building strong relationships and understands the individual pupil's needs.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
