SEN TA needed in Launceston

Job description

A generic special school for pupils aged 2-19, our client is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils on the Autism Spectrum in Launceston. You will be require to work across school - with a specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care and instruction of autistic students; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring behaviour; documenting activities and progress; and supporting students' EHCP goals. pay is £65 per day and the hours are 08:30-15:30 5 days a week.

You will have a solid understanding and experience of meeting the needs of individuals with Autism Spectrum Conditions within a specialist setting and ideally will also possess training in the following:

  • Intensive Interaction
  • TEACHH
  • NVQ 3
  • Full driving licence
  • Visual Supports/Social Stories
  • SPELL
  • Applied Behaviour Analysis

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, it will be your role support ASC students to access the curriculum through delivering targeted 1:1 interventions and providing whole class support. You will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to liaise with Teachers, Speech and Language Therapists, Parents/Carers, and Educational Psychologists. You will have previous experience of working with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and of accurate monitoring of progress under the instruction of a class teacher.
