TA to work in 'Outstanding' Scunthorpe school

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a SEN TA to work in an 'Outstanding' SEN school in Scunthorpe. The school itself is based at a modern site, with a hydrotherapy pool, small animals and a playing field to provide a stimulating environment for all the children to thrive in.

About the role:

The role will involve working within a mixed group of SEN pupils, the school caters for pupils whose SEN ranges from ASC all the way through to PMLD. Your role will involve working within the various classes to deliver a nurturing and supportive environment to all the children in the classroom. The school prides itself on preparing their pupils to live as much of an independent life as possible.

About you as the ideal candidate

  • The best candidates will be able to show an aptitude for working with a range of SEN pupils, in a mix of environments
  • You could also have some additional skills that would stand you in good stead, such as Team Teach or Makaton.
  • You might also have experience working with SEMH pupils outside a traditional educational setting and this could be of interest.
  • Essentially, you must be a patient, caring and thorough individual with a commitment to helping students to achieve their independence within and outside of school.
  • You will be committed to the welfare of children and always act to safeguard pupil at all times.
  • Ideally you will now have your own transport and a clean driving licence, but this is not necessary essential.

To be considered you must have:

  • A valid enhanced DBS check or be willing to have one through Teaching Personnel.
  • You will be able to provide 2 references and a 6 year working history.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
