Job description

Full-time Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant required for a Salford Secondary school, starting immediately, fixed term until the end of the academic year.

Teaching Personnel are working in collaboration with a large Salford Secondary school to recruit an experienced SEN TA to work within their support provisions on a 1:1 intervention basis throughout the academic year.

  • Full-time SEN TA required immediately, fixed term till the end of the academic year.
  • Must have prior experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs.
  • Access to continued CPD training programmes which include; 'SEN Carousel, Team Teach and Effective Behaviour Management'.
  • Earn up to £1300 per month.

This Salford Secondary school has seen drastic positive changes across the school, staff and all its pupils. With on site provisions in place for SEN pupils the school take pride in providing additional dedicated support for pupils with identified needs.

The school are committed to early identification of special educational needs and adopts a graduated response to meeting special educational needs in line with policies and codes of practice.

The responsibilities for the incoming SEN Teaching Assistant will include;

  • Work 1:1, in small groups and on an intervention basis with identified pupils.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be approachable whether dealing with learners, parents or colleagues.
  • Required to share the schools passion and vision of helping each pupil achieve their full potential.

Located in the South of Salford, the school has just over 1000 pupils on roll aged 11-16. There are also numerous public transport options readily available via the A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bolton, Bury and Salford.
