SEN Support workers required for schools

Are you a Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Then this could be the role for you!

Teaching Personnel are currently representing a number of primary schools in South Sheffield and Chesterfield. We are currently seeking experienced support staff members to support children with Special Educational Needs. This role could involve working across Key Stages and different schools. Many of the settings have an Integrated Resource Unit and a Sensory Room, which may be used to support the children you will be working with. We are looking for a patient and caring individual, who is comfortable supporting on a 1:1 basis.

You will work with SEN students identified with ASC (autistic spectrum condition), children with mental health issues and children needing speech and language support, on both a 1:1 basis and with small groups and will contribute towards a purposeful learning environment by supporting classroom teachers in teaching and learning. As some children may express challenging behaviour, we are looking for someone who can follow behaviour policies and additional training such as Team Teach may be beneficial for the role.

The ideal candidate will have some experience of working with SEN and will have outstanding inter-personal skills. You will need to be patient and sensitive with the ability to encourage and motivate children as well as being able to work effectively in a team. You will need to take into account children's learning styles and what motivates them to stay engaged, using positive behaviour management. We have a leading CPD Academy to support staff members who wish to develop their skills further.

Our ideal SEN Teaching Assistant would be;

• experienced supporting children with ASC/Speech and Language/BESD
• have a good knowledge of behaviour management techniques
• be patient and sensitive
• be able to motivate children who are disengaged from their learning
• experienced supporting children across the Key Stages

Teaching Personnel can offer you;

• up to £70 a day, depending on your previous roles
