Support Staff and SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel work closely with a SEN School in Horsham. Immediate Start. The class have multiple special educational needs... Skills that you will need to require;

  • Someone confident or interested in supporting young adults with special needs
  • Previous experience in care support or an understanding of special educational needs - however this is not essential
  • Someone who is open to Team Teach training to support challenging behaviour and overall career development

 The Role:

As a specialist outreach worker you'll provide support to young adults 1:1 and in small groups with special educational needs both within the college and throughout the local community – Horsham area. The college provides personalised learning and vocational programmes for young adults centred on building skills, independence and confidence. Students have a range of special needs including social and emotional difficulties, autism, physical disabilities and medical needs.


 The Candidate:

Having a background as a carer, support or outreach worker is highly beneficial due to training in these areas. However, individuals open to learning and career development are welcome to apply as training can be provided.

Please be aware all teaching assistants are required to have an enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
