1-2-1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Huddersfield (Holmfirth- HD9)
Specialist teaching assistant required at a Primary School in Holmfirth / Huddersfield (HD9) for a full-time role working 1-1 with a pupil in Year 2 who has Special Educational Needs, to start in January 2021.

If so then this could be the perfect role for you!
You will be working with a pupil in Year 2 who is learning at a lower ability level their peers in both physical and mental aspects. Your day will be varied, supporting the pupil in the classroom 50% of the time with social interaction and emotional development. The other 50% of the time you will be working 1-1 with the pupil out of the classroom on core subjects including maths, reading, writing and spelling and assisting with therapy sessions to help physical development. This is a full-time role from 8:45am - 3:30pm.
What is requited from you
- Teaching Assistant qualification, educational based degree or at least 6 months experience working with children or young people
- Able to hold children's attention and focus with excellent communication skills
- Support the class teacher where needed and use your own initiative to support pupils
- Can provide 2 references which can comment on your ability to work with children
- Have a calm, nurturing approach with clear expectations
- Be confident building positive relationships with pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds to help them progress both socially and academically
