Job salary: £11.85 - £12.55 per hour (AWR will come into effect for this role) 

Are you currently seeking a new role within Education to start in September? Teaching Personnel Permanent Workforce are currently working with an Ofsted rated 'GOOD' School in the Nelson area, seeking 2 SEN Teaching Assisatnts to start in the new academic year. 

As our new Teaching Assistant, your role will be to support our students with their learning and general wellbeing, in order to ensure that every child has the best opportunity to reach their full learning potential in a caring and safe environment. Where necessary this may include supporting with personal care needs from time to time, as well as providing positive behaviour management, and adopting a tailored approach to the individual child. You will be expected to establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the School, and to promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times. You will support the class teacher and contribute to providing high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.

Your duties may include but not limited to:

  • Provide personal care to students where needed
  • Work closely with the Class Teacher, as you may need to cover lessons in their absence
  • Provide a tailored approach with students where needed as they may have complex needs
  • Liaise frequently with the Class Teacher in order to discuss ways to expand & develop in order to provide the best learning opportunities for the students

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children with complex needs, working with SEN Students
  • Minimum Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Relevant qualification within the Subject area
  • A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or an Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months or willing to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
