SEN Support Assistant

A Head Teacher from a primary school in Rawtenstall is seeking a full time SEN Support Assistant. The school is based in Rawtenstall Lancashire and requires support for pupils with SEMH Difficulties, Autism, and ADHD. This role will be starting in September 2020, despite the current situation with school closures the Head Teacher would like Teaching Personnel to actively recruit for this position. The Head Teacher would ideally like to meet suitable candidates however in the current situation with school closures/ preparation for phased reopenings therefore this may be done via a video call.

The primary school are hoping to appoint a full time Support Assistant with experience in working with children with additional needs. The school are looking for a candidate who is empathetic, resilient, energetic and enthusiastic. The role will require you to support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, you will mainly assist them with their school work but also you will assist the class teachers in effectively managing behaviour. Candidates with their Team Teach qualification will be favoured for this role but this is not essential. 

The candidate must come from a background in working with children, specifically with pupils who could display challenging behaviours. The school will accept candidates from a Youth Work, Care, Education or Military background and candidates whom have first hand experience caring for children with additional needs will also be considered. The candidate must be looking for a long term, permanent role and candidates must have a passion for working with pupils who can be challenging in their behaviours.

- Negotiable pay rates GBP60 - 70 per day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
