Job description

Full time Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant required for a Bolton Secondary school from November 2018, fixed term, till the end of the academic year (2019).

Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint an SEN specialist who is professional, energetic and up-to-date with current techniques in supporting learners with Special Educational Needs for our client Secondary school in Bolton.

  • Full time SEN Support Assistant position, from November 2018 until the end of the academic year.
  • Must hold prior experience working with SEN and relevant qualifications/ training.
  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted rated 'Good' Academy with access to CPD training programmes.
  • Earn up to £1300 per month.

This Bolton Secondary school has just over 500 pupils on roll aged 11-16 and with an influx of applications each year it is heavily over subscribed. Due to new government funding the school now wish to appoint a dynamic SEN Support Assistant to work with identified pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • To identify and provide for pupils who have special educational needs and additional needs.
  • To work within the statutory guidance provided in the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 intervention basis as well as in smaller guided groups as directed by Senior Leadership and SENCO.
  • Areas you may work within; Communication and Interaction Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional, Mental Health, Sensory and/or Physical Needs etc.

Farnworth can easily be accessible via the M60 and the surrounding areas; Bury, Salford and Wigan. There are also various public transport options available with links throughout Greater Manchester.
