SEN (MLD/SLD) Teaching Assistant wanted!

Teaching Personnel is currently working with a Secondary SEN school based in Birmingham (B13), that caters for pupils with SLD/PMLD & complex needs. They are looking for Teaching Assistants to work on both a day to day and long term basis within the school, in a variety of classes. Working in the school can be very challenging, however it is also extremely rewarding if you have a passion for working with young people. The school is Secondary based, so caters for pupils aged 11-18.

The school are looking for support staff members to work on a variety of contracts. The class sizes would be around 6-9, working alongside other members of support staff, and a fully qualified, subject specialist teacher.

The successful candidates(s), must have experience working with young people or adults with SEN & complex needs. School. Whether it is in a school setting or not, is not essential. Ideally, you will have experience working with people with SLD/complex needs, and associated challenging behaviour.

Every member of permanent staff in the school is Team-Teach trained, so if you are Team-Teach trained (or similar) this would be fantastic. Any experience with PECs/Makaton would be fantastic.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
