Exciting chance for an SEN teaching assistant looking for a new opportunity in January 2019.

An SEN school based in the London Borough of Bromley is looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join a key stage 3 class in their secondary department. The purpose-built school building is situated near Swanley, and caters for students with a diagnosis of autism and other speech and language based difficulties across key stages 2, 3 and 4.

This is a full time role starting after the Christmas break, and the school are looking to trial prospective candidates next week when they go back after half term. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A child workforce DBS registered on the update service
  • Experience of supporting children with Autism
  • Ability to support sensory/social/communication development
  • Awareness of or ability to use PECs, Makaton or BSL
  • Relevant training in safeguarding, child protection, autism awareness, Team Teach, TEACCH
  • Excellent references from your previous places of employment
