Learning Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for full-time temporary to permanent Teaching Assistants who love working with children. You will be supporting SEN pupils who are both primary and secondary aged with a range of needs including; Complex Needs, ASC, and MLD.

The School in Wickford, Essex is an Ofsted-rates "Good" specialist school that works with both boys and girls aged 5-19 years.

The purpose of the school is to prepare students for the demands of adult life through staff expertise and specialist approaches. This included providing a nurturing and therapeutic environment that encourages students to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

Relevant experience is beneficial, but may not always be necessary. Applicants with a background in supporting SEN in any setting may be considered. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a childcare setting and progress your career. 

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing support in and out of the classroom
• Supporting evening and weekend trips out
• Working alongside other staff to provide the best possible education
• Able to work with groups or 1:1 support within the classroom
• Supporting pupils with Autism & Learning Difficulties
• Supervising pupil behaviour
• Encourage, engage and support pupils with their learning & development.
• Be able to work both within the school and off site to encourage and support their learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
