Learning Support Assistant

Duration: March 2022 – July 2022

Pay: £1,326 a month

Here at Teaching Personnel, we are currently working alongside one of our partner Welsh Medium Primary Schools that are looking to recruitalearning support assistant to start full-time in March. The position will be supporting emotional and behavior children, whilst doing a small amount of teaching assistant work on the side.

As a support assistant, you will need to have the ability to build strong, trusting, and stable relationships with young people, and be consistent in your approach to behavior management. The role will often have you supporting small group interventions within the behavior provision and on occasions support the pupils in the mainstream classes, as the school look to integrate these pupils on a phased basis. As well as this you will find yourself supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis.

The perfect candidate will have:

  • Previous experience of supporting challenging behaviour and supporting young people's Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs would be desirable
  • The ability to build relationships and use your own life experience to act as a role model/behaviour buddy
  • A thick skinned, resilient personality to work alongside pupils with challenging behaviour and at risk of exclusion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A passion to make a positive difference in a young person's life
  • Access to a vehicle is desirable
  • Sensitivity to the challenges relating to young people

  • EWC registration (assistance provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
