About the role:
A school in Plymouth is currently looking for a candidate to fill an SEN Learning Mentor role.
Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm, Term times only.
You would be assisting with the learning and development of students, whereby you would work closely with teachers to help with topics they are learning. Also you would help develop social and emotional skills through the use of constructive extra curricular activities. Working in a vital role with the student, you would be responsible for the planning of daily learning and activities, such as the logistics of trips, planning and preparation of work set by teachers, creating a weekly timetable and being punctual with school timings and deadlines.
As you would be working in a 1:1 or small group setting, it would be beneficial to have backgrounds in any of the following:
- Outdoor education
- Teaching/teaching assistant/nursery
- Social work
- Youth work
- Support work
- Health care/care work
If any of the above applies, please look into this role!
Successful candidates:
- Preferably a relevant NVQ Level 3 or higher in a child based/ education topic
- Experience in one of the above areas
- Enthusiastic and a great can do attitude
- Calm and empathetic manner
- Good behaviour management
- Full Clean UK driving license

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service.
