1:1 SEN Support – Central Manchester Primary School, M11

  • • 1:1 support required for a KS1 child with cerebral palsy
  • • Full time support position starting after Easter
  • • Competitive Rates of Pay - £11,998 - £15,298

A client school in Central Manchester as seeking a Support Assistant to work with a Year 1 child with cerebral palsy on a 1:1 basis. The school prides itself on promoting ‘positive attitudes to themselves, to others and to the communities’ and is looking for a compassionate practitioner who will encourage positivity through out all aspects of school life.

The child would benefit from an enthusiastic support assist who is able to build supportive relationships. The selected candidate will be expected to work with the child full time, through out lessons and break times to ensure they have the best possible experience at school.

Due to the child’s cerebral palsy, they have quite severe physical disabilities. They are currently in a wheel chair but are seeing a physio to encourage movement. There are a number of exercises that the child has to do on a daily basis which the successful candidate would be expected to support with. Ideally, the school is looking for someone who has experience working with children with a similar disability but somebody with the right attitude and a willingness to follow instruction would be considered.

This is a full time position starting after Easter and running until the end of the academic year. The opportunity for extension may be possible for the right person.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
