Teaching Assistant required to support pupils with Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN) in an Accrington Primary School

Teaching Personnel are working with a popular school in school in Accrington and the SENCo has approached us seeking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to begin as soon as possible. The position is full-time, long-term with a realistic possibility of it becoming permanent for the right candidate. The role requires the Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with pupils aged between 5-11 with SLCN both in the classroom and in the schools provision unit.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Use of spoken language (e.g. grammar, sentence building and story building)
- Understanding of spoken language
- Knowledge and use of vocabulary
- Attention and listening
- Verbal reasoning/ problem solving skills
*Candidates with experience in Team Teach, PECS and MAKATON are highly sought after*
