ASC Learning Support Assistant - Tameside

  • Team Teach Trained
  • Primary SEN school in Tameside
  • Pupils who suffer from ASC

My client is a Primary SEN school in Tameside that require a number of Learning Support Assistants to work with pupils who suffer from Autistic Spectrum Condition. Any successful candidate will start on a temporary basis that may potentially turn into a long term role. The pupils have educational barriers which as a learning support assistant are challenging. The pupils all have Education Health Care Plans to meet each individuals needs. As most of the pupils suffer from ASC the school has sensory and quiet rooms to meet the individual needs.

It is essential that candidates have:

• Previous experience in a teaching assistant or learning support assistant

• Previous experience working with pupils with ASC

• Ability to work effectively in a team

• Ability to work effectively on their own

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Is not troubled with personal care

It is desirable for candidates to have:

• Be Team-Teach trained

• Be Moving and Handling trained

• Have experience working with Plevels

• Have experience using alternative communication aids (e.g. PECS/ BSL)

Teaching Personnel offer an excellent range of CPD courses including Team-Teach, Moving and Handling and Read, Write, Inc. Phonics.
