Teaching Assistant - Swinton, Salford

  • Are you interested in working with young children?
  • Do you have experience working within an educational setting supporting children face barriers towards learning?
  • Do you have experience working with ASC children?

This specialist school is based in Swinton (Salford), and are looking for a highly experienced teaching assistant in early years foundation stage. A large number of pupils have an autistic spectrum condition. Some of the pupils have physical difficulties or profound and mulitple learning difficulties, whilst others may have a language disorder or have a general developmental delay.

All the pupils have difficulties accessing education and need to work in smaller class groups with a high level of specialist staff from Education, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and the School Nursing Service.

To apply for these positions, you must possess a calm and caring nature and have the ability to deal with challenging behaviour. Qualifications and training such as Team-Teach, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant awards, Moving & Handling etc are all highly desirable. Experience of using PECS, Makaton and/or Signalong would also be beneficial.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
