A SEN Teaching Assistant is needed for a full time, permanent role in the Barnsley area to start in September 2016. This role offers an excellent salary for the successful applicant with further career development opportunities.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Support and contribute to a range of activities and meetings in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team.

• Support the delivery of a bespoke curriculum based upon individual needs.

• Excellently manage challenging behaviour from young children with a Statement of Educational Needs.

• Work with medical staff and a consultant psychologist on site, meaning this requires an individual with tact, patience and a broader understanding of special needs outside the normal perimeters found in other local sites.

• Be a minimum Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Graduate qualified;

• Have a minimum of 3 months experience working with Special Needs

• Health and Social care experience is acceptable

• The ability to work well under pressure is paramount and flexible working hours a necessity as this job demands some work outside of school core hours.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
