Experienced Early Years Practitioners required for specialist setting in Leeds

  • Experience working in EYFS
  • Experience of training in PECS, Makaton or Intensive Interaction is highly desirable
  • A desire to support pupils with special educational needs

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist school based in Leeds who are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join the Early Years Team. You will be working closely with colleagues to deliver a specially developed curriculum, running on a ‘continuous provision’ basis.

You will have experience working in nursery, foundation stage or Early Years settings and have a desire to support pupils with Special Educational Needs. The school caters for pupils with very specific learning needs such as:

•Speech and language delay, impairments or disorders

•Specific learning difficulties

•Moderate to severe learning difficulties

•Autistic Spectrum Conditions

Due to the very specific needs of pupils, experience or training in alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton or Intensive Interaction is highly desirable; as is the ability to work within a continuous provision environment, using your initiative to structure sessions and encourage pupils to interact with their environment.
