Sensory Support Assistant required for specialist SEN School in Bradford

  • Prior experience in an education, health or care setting
  • Excellent communication skills and the desire to improve learning experiences for those with additional needs in a specialist setting
  • Possession of or commitment to complete Team Teach training

Teaching Personnel are working with a specialist SEN School in Bradford who are seeking several Teaching Assistants to provide cover for pupils with Special Educational Needs.

The school caters for pupils aged 3-19 with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Sensory Impairmens. It will be your role to support pupils to access a highly bespoke and tailored curriculum. You must have experience of supporting young people or adults with physical disabilities and/or additional needs. You will be comfortable providing personal care, and ideally will possess a Team Teach certificate.

You will be required to liaise with a multi disciplinary team consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and teaching staff. You may also be required to support these colleagues in implementing specific therapy and educational programmes, so an understanding of person centred Educational, Health and Care Plans is essential. You will be able to adapt resources to meet specific pupil needs and have the ability to effectively and accurately monitor and record development in these programmes.

There is also an opportunity to provide cover on a part time basis (10am-2pm), which would be ideal for those looking for more flexible working patterns.
