An Outstanding Secondary School in Camden, are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to work in the PMLD Provision supporting pupils with PMLD and Physical disabilities. The role is to start in the September, running for the full 2017/18 academic year. The pupils are secondary age and work in a separate department to the mainstream side of the school.


This well established secondary school in Camden, North London requires a strong and confident candidate who is happy to role up their sleeves and ready to support pupils. The closest station to the school is Prince Regent DLR which allows access to the rest of the city.

This is a challenging school, but with the leadership of the visionary head teacher standards are rising rapidly. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of this revolution taking place within the school.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience or training in moving & handling/ wheel chair hoisting is essential

• Be comfortable to support students with Personal Care

• Have experience assisting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties

• Makaton and PECS experience is beneficial

• Have experience working with children (youth work, support work and working in residential care will also be considered)

• Ready to assist pupils with varying degrees of ability

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
