Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants with autism/complex learning needs wanted for autism unit in Southall

  • 1:1 and small group support of children in autism unit of primary school starting in September
  • Competitive rates ranging from £55 - £75 per day dependant on Special Needs teaching experience and training
  • Temporary to permanent positions available

Are you a graduate, teaching assistant or learning support assistant looking for a stable job with career progression?

A primary school based in Southall are looking for teaching assistants with autism and severe/complex learning difficulties experience for roles within the school’s autism department starting in September. The school provides for primary aged pupils including EYFS and has a resource bases for pupils diagnosed with autism and severe learning difficulties.


• Must be able to travel to Southall (West London)

• Must be able to work Monday - Friday 8:30 am – to 4:00pm during school term time

• Experience working in a Special Need School is highly sought after

• Must have experience and/or interest in supporting children and/or young with autism across the spectrum and severe learning difficulties

• Must be confident in supporting children with Maths, English and core subjects

• Knowledge of autism specific visual aids such as PECS, TEACCH, symbols and sensory resources highly beneficial

• Team Teach de-escalation training is beneficial (offered at a subsidised rate through Teaching Personnel)

Competitive rate ranging between £55 – 75 per day dependant on Special Needs experience and training!

A valid DBS with Child Only Workforce registered onto the update service is required in order to secure this job.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
