1:1 TA role in Llanelli Welsh school

  • Part time TA support
  • 1:1 assistance with SEN
  • Long term role.

A large Welsh medium primary school in Llanelli are looking for a new teaching assistant to work in their year 6 class with a pupil with Downs Syndrome. The role will be every Wednesday and Thursday and will extend for the academic year. You will be required to work on a 1:1 basis supporting the pupil within each subject, The pupil is high functioning and will be able to work competently with support in all lessons, they will just need assistance with tasks. You will need to be able to break down each lesson and adapt to the pupil's learning style, this will be supported by the teacher also.

To be considered for this position you will need to be able to speak fluent Welsh, have experience with SEN, have a Child workforce DBS on the update service and be registered with the EWC.

In return you will be offered a placement which will last the whole year if you are suitable, be paid on a weekly basis, have CPD courses offered on a regular basis, have a warm and welcome team of staff to support you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
