Job description

Primary SEN Teacher

  • Are you a primary qualified teacher who has experience of working with children with SEN?
  • Are you Team-Teach trained? Do you have experience of using PECS?
  • You will have access to CPD courses such as Team-Teach, Autism Awareness and Moving & Handling

The Manchester SEN branch of Teaching Personnel are currently looking for primary qualified teachers who are able to deliver the curriculum to children with SEN in a range of settings, including pupil referral units, SEN schools, residential children's homes and other alternative settings that cater for children with PMLD, SLD, ASC and social, emotional & mental health problems.

To be considered for a teaching role, you must hold a teaching qualification and QTS, primary or secondary is acceptable. However, if you hold a secondary teaching qualification but want work in a primary setting, you must have had experience teaching primary children.

Additional training such as PECS, Team-Teach or SCIP are highly desirable as some of the children and young people may display challenging behaviour, both verbal and physical.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
