SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Actual Salary: £11.85 -£13/hr
Location: Liverpool
Start Date: Immediate

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for positions in Knowsley and surrounding areas to work across Primary and Secondary schools predominantly in the SEND departments working 1:1 with pupils in classroom and intervention settings. Experience is not necessary, however an emotional and empathetic understanding is expected and a therapeutic approch towards learing is necessary. The role is advertised as an SEN Teaching Assistant and the person/job specifications are listed below. Job Specification

  • Assisting the SENDCo in supporting the students to achieve their Learning Objectives and to report on their development and progress.
  • Prioritise the needs of the individual student and adapt their learning and provisions to suit their intellectual abilities to maximise elarning outcomes.
  • Contribute towards the planning of projects, execution and displaying of work. 
  • Attend and contribute to school events; open days, presentation evenings, parents evenings, etc.
  • Support the teacher with effective classroom management, including behaviour management, completion of registers, resource management and general cleanliness and tidiness.
  • Making daily observations of students; attitude towards learning, lesson interaction, behavior and general moral.

Person Specifrication

  • You have a passion to support a child with complex SEN needs and complex
  • Are looking to gain classroom experience
  • You have a calm and professional approach
  • You would enjoy working with pupils 1:1 or in a small group

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
