Job description

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, to work within our client primary schools across York on a flexible basis. This role will entail supporting pupils with a variety of SEN, including moderate to severe learning difficulties.

The candidates we are recruiting for will need to obtain relevant qualifications (ideally a Child Care, Education or Teaching Assistant certificate, diploma or degree) and have SEN experience.

Classroom experience or former experience of working with pupils at primary level is desired. We require an individual who can support pupils with SEN and generate creative new ideas for how to provide effective support for specific SEN. You will need to be calm, patient and hold the ability to form excellent relationships.

Your role will include working with SEN pupils across our client schools on a 1:1 and group basis. You will need to work in conjunction with staff, parents and outside agencies in order to provide the best support for each pupil.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
