SEN and SEMH Support needed in Southampton

Job description

The specialist Secondary provision based in Southampton caters for secondary aged boys and girls who have difficulty managing social interactions; and recognising and regulating their emotions in order to promote positive mental health. The school caters for individuals with SEN and SEMH; providing facilities and learning opportunities to support a wide variety of needs.

The role will require applicants working with closely with Teachers and supportive Teaching Assistants; this will be on a 1:1 or small group basis with boys with complex behavioural needs. We are looking for applicants to work with students 5 days per week, between the hours of 08.30am - 15.30pm, Monday to Friday. A variety of roles in this school are available, as the student base has recently expanded requiring an additional 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant and small group Youth Support Worker.

Relevant qualifications and training:

  • Minimum of GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (A - C)

  • Makaton
