SEMH Teaching Assistants

Do you have experience working with SEMH?

Are you looking to use your skills and experience in a school environment?

Teaching Personnel are working with a Pupil Referral Unit in Weymouth that are currently looking for staff to start in September 2018. The school cater for Secondary pupils that have been excluded or removed from mainstream school, therefore all the pupils have challenging behaviour. Alongside this they can potentially have other needs such as:

  • Autism (ASC/ASD)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • ADHD

The majority of the current vacancies are for full time, permanent Support Assistants who would work 1:1 or in small groups with these pupils. The ideal candidate would have previous experience working with similar needs or be passionate about working in this type of school. Candidates that are suited for this type of school tend to have experience in some of the following:

  • Criminology
  • Youth/Community work experience
  • SEN experience
  • Residential support/care worker
  • Sports coaching
  • Team Teach
  • Youth Offending Services
  • Challenging behaviour within family
  • Mentoring
  • Teaching/Learning support Assistance
  • Psychology

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
