SEMH Teaching Assistant required in Winchester

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant's required in Winchester.

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking candidates to fill Teaching Assistant positions in a specialist SEMH provision located in Winchester. The school caters for individuals with a variety of needs; including those who have been temporarily or permanently excluded from mainstream schooling.

Successful candidates will be responsible for assisting pupils at Key Stages 3 & 4 aged between 11 - 19 years old. As a Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for supporting pupils on 1:1 or small group basis with a variety of tasks including: managing behaviour, supporting and engaging pupils with work and general care.

Experience working with challenging behaviour is preferred; this could be from instances within your personal life or previous careers. As attending pupils may have demonstrate characteristics such as Anxiety and Self-harm, Depression, Anti-social behaviour and Anger.

Successful candidates traditionally have experience in two or more of the following bullet points.

  • We are currently seeking Learning Support Assistants to fill full and part time positions. The school hours will operate between 8.30am - 3.30pm. All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
