Teaching Personnel's client school in Manchester are looking for a Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting students with challenging behaviour or Social Emotional Mental Health. As a specialist Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with the SENCO in our client schools alternative provision/inclusion unit. The successful Teaching Assistant will be required to support pupils with behavioural difficulties on a 1:1 and basis assisting them in reaching their academic and behavioural targets.

The ideal candidate will be able to build positive relationships with students and staff across our client school. They will be required to work with students who display disruptive, anti-social and aggressive behaviour and therefore we are looking for someone who is able to diffuse situations in a confident and calming manner.

Experience working with young people with SEN/SEMH is desirable for this role.

Our client school is a large mainstream secondary school with over 900 pupils on roll. Due to the demographics of the school, there is a high percentage of students who receive pupil premium funding and a number of students who are from disadvantaged backgrounds. The school is located in South Manchester and is easily accessible via public transport links from the city centre and surrounding areas. For those who drive, the school is easily accessible by the M60 ring road or the M56 motorway.
