Teaching Personnel’s SEN Branch in Bristol specialises in finding inspirational education staff to work across the entire SEN sector, including special schools, pupil referral units and alternative education providers for pupils with special educational needs in Bristol, Bath, North Somerset, Trowbridge and South Gloucestershire.

Experience of working with children and young people with challenging behaviour in an education setting is desirable but not essential.

We have seen sports coaches, youth leaders and ex-military become fantastic leaders and support staff for our pupil referral units and alternative education providers.

- A patient, resilient and friendly individual with a good sense of humour, who is passionate about equal and excellent education for all- no matter their difficulties in life

- Strong interpersonal skills, in order to communicate with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff, social workers and educational psychologists

- Demonstrable understanding of the resourcefulness, flexibility and positive attitude needed to deliver a child-centred approach

-The ability to inspire children to become life-long learners, as well as happy, confident and valued members of society

-The self-assurance and reliability that is necessary to nurturing committed and consistent relationships with children who require stability
