We are ideally looking for a male role model to work as Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a secondary student who is extremely challenging and presents with SEMH.
Ideally you will have excellent behaviour management and the ability to build a strong rapport with the student. Additional behaviour training is desirable but NOT essential as Teaching Personnel can provide you with Team Teach behaviour training as part of your CPD.

• Aggressive physical/verbal
• Emotional vulnerability
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:
•Minimum 1 year experience working with children and young people either in education, residential or health care settings.
•Act as a positive role model at all times, helping young people to embrace employment or educational opportunities where possible.
•Confidence to work on your own initiative, as well as contributing to a team.
•Good understanding of the National Curriculum at a primary and/or secondary level.
•Confidence to manage challenging behaviour and re-engage students who are disaffected and not currently engaged in their education.
•An excellent understanding of how to identify the triggers which may be the root cause of behavioural difficulties.
•Willing and confident to work in a variety of educational establishments using a creative, open minded approach at all times.
•A patient, nurturing approach to supporting young people at all times
•Ability to monitor, track and record progress and attendance
