Learning Support Mentors Needed Urgently

  • £55-£65 daily pay rate
  • A number of positions in the Nottingham area

Two of our secondary schools in the central Nottingham area have recently approached Teaching Personnel looking to recruit effective behaviour mentors to support students transitioning back in to mainstream education having had periods of exclusion. In particular, a number of the students are males and so the schools are looking for strong role model figures.

The role offers a varied and ever changing environment in which members of staff work flexibly to support vulnerable students with emotional, social and mental health difficulties. The role is full-time with the offer of a permanent contract for those who excel in post.

Those who have experience in the following areas would be of particular interest:

• Youth work

• Support work & residential care

• Learning mentor in secondary environment

• Prison officers/ tutors

• Graduates from relevant disciplines (Psychology, sociology)

The primary function of this post is to work collaboratively with the team supporting students in developing students confidence, self-esteem, increasing school participation and to generally cultivate greater aspirations to achieve, not only in education but in the their lives as a whole.
