Job description

Behaviour Teaching Assistant to start immediately in Salisbury Pupil Referral Unit.

  • £48-£60 daily rate
  • Various courses including Team Teach available

A Pupil Referral Unit in Salisbury is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This Unit has a large SEN and behaviour department and you will be working with their most challenging students.

The right candidate will be passionate and a positive role model.

The school caters for children aged 5-16 and they often work on a 1:1 basis. Most pupils stay on the roll of their mainstream school while attending the centre part time.

Some of the pupils have social, emotional or behavioural difficulties, although a significant minority have physical or mental health difficulties, which may mean that they are educated in their homes.

At Teaching Personnel we offer courses such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness, Manual Handling and NASEN- Supporting SEN.

To be considered for this role, the following skills and experienced is desired:

• Experience in an SEN or behavioural environment

• Confident and Patient

• Motivating

You must be available from May - Summer and be available to trial in the unit as soon as possible

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
