Teaching Assistants required for immediate start - Oldham

  • Teaching Assistants required for immediate start - Oldham
  • SEMH experience essential
  • Immediate start - DBS on update service desirable

A Secondary SEMH school in Oldham requires multiple Teaching Assistants for immediate start. The successful candidates will start on a temporary basis with the potential of becoming permanent.

The school caters for students aged 11-16 from all backgrounds, trying where possible to reintegrate them back into mainstream school. The school aims to promote the academic, emotional and social development of our students.

It is essential for candidates to have -

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above, or level 2 equivalent in literacy and numeracy

• Previous experience in a teaching assistant or care environment

• Previous experience working with young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties

• Proven experience of working with young people with very challenging behaviour

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Good written and verbal communication skills

It is desirable for candidates to -

• be Team-Teach/ MAPPA trained

• have experience working with young people with ASC

Teaching Personnel offer an excellent range of CPD courses including Team-Teach, Autism Awareness and Read, Write, Inc. Phonics.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
