Teaching Assistant needed in a specialist hospital school in Bury

A mental health hospital in Bury is looking to employ a teaching assistant with SEMH difficulties experience to work within their 11-18 years adolescent unit. The unit provides in-patient care, treatment and support for people who have been affected by drug and alcohol abuse, self harm, abuse and crime. The young people do display challenging behaviours as a result of their needs, primarily a reluctance to engage and verbal/physical aggression when in crisis.

The ideal Teaching assistant will have experience supporting young people who display extremely challenging behaviours in a school environment, although TA’s with experience in the care sector will also be considered. Teaching Assistants with MAPPA training will also be considered for the role.

This role is based on a temporary to permanent contract and is due to start immediately.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
