Job description

SEMH behaviour specialists required in Huddersfield

  • Genuine passion for making a different to young peoples lives who have SEMH issues
  • Firm understanding of the issues that surround children with challenging behaviour
  • Experience of working with adults and young people with challenging behaviour

We are currently looking for experienced teaching assistants to work at our SEMH behaviour schools in Huudersfield to start as soon as possible from September with the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff if you are successful in the role.

Our schools range from primary ages through to secondary with a wide range of SEMH and SEN issues (including Autistic Spectrum Conditions) You will be required to support these pupils and try reintegrate them back in to education. Your role will be to offer additional support with deescalating behaviour, reengaging pupils in their education and help support them in their own learning. You may also be required to use Team Teach so training in this would be beneficial.

You will be resilient, patient and confident, with a sound understanding of meeting the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people with Special Educational Needs.

Experience or training in the following is also desirable:

• Autism Awareness/ASC Training

• Team Teach

• EX forces

• Residential support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
