SEN Teaching Assistants- PRU- East London

We are seeking Behaviour Learning Support Assistants for a Secondary PRU located in East London. The school caters for pupils with social, emotional, mental health difficulties and present challenging behaviours. They are looking classroom support assistants to deliver general subjects support on a group or one to one basis with their pupils. Classes are taught in small groups of 6-8 pupils due to the complex needs of pupils. This role will suit those who have experience or passion working with challenging pupils in a PRU or alternative provision setting.

Desired experience, training, or education:

• Special Educational Needs-SEMH

• Experience working with challenging behaviour/ PRUs or Alternative Provisions

• Youth Worker ,Support worker or mental health facilities

• Team teach or physical restraint training

• Counselling

• Sports background or Sports coaching experience

• Degree and or Masters in: Criminology, Psychology or Maths

Mandatory requirements:

• Able to deliver 1:1 and or group support at KS3 and KS4 Level

• Experience working with challenging behaviour

• Current DBS

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
