Teaching Assistant with ASC experience, Consett

  • Do you have a CACHE Level 2 or equivalent or a degree in Psychology/Early Years Studies?
  • Do you hold a current DBS?
  • Are you experienced supporting those with SEN including Autism, MLD and Physical Disabilities?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an SEN school in Consett who are currently recruiting for a KS2 Teaching Assistant with experience supporting Autism and SLD within a Primary setting with the ability to manage challenging behaviours.

Ideally applicants would have experience with ASC and SLD within a KS2 school setting. Additional qualifications such as Team Teach and Autism Awareness is desired. We would also welcome applicants with relevant transferrable skills such as Youth Workers or Support Workers as well as recent university graduates.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• 3 months experience supporting students with ASC and SLD in a mainstream or SEN setting

• NCFE/CACHE Level 2 Supporting and Learning in Schools or educated to a degree level

• Patient and nurturing mannerism with a desire to work in SEN

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
