Learning Support Assistants and Teaching Assistants and Youth Workers wanted for daily work in Pupil Referral Unit in West Ealing

• Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant work on days of availability
• 1:1 and small group support of secondary children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties starting in September
• Competitive rates ranging from £55 - £70 per day dependant on Special Needs teaching experience and training

A pupil referral unit in West Ealing are looking for teaching assistants and teach mentors to start full-time from September 2017. The provision caters for secondary-aged students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools. The provision additionally includes students with underlying behavioural, emotional and social problems including permanent exclusion, special educational needs or health problems.

Requirements:

• Must be able to travel to West Ealing area (West London)

• Must be able to work Monday – Friday (8:30 -4:00pm) during school term time

• Must be confident in supporting secondary aged children with Maths, English and core subjects

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school is beneficial

• Experience as a learning mentor/behaviour support, Inclusion support or intervention teaching assistant highly beneficial

• Interest in supporting children with challenging behaviour and/or mental health issues

• Degrees in English, Mathematics, Science highly sought after

• Team Teach de-escalation training is highly beneficial (offered at a subsidised rate through Teaching Personnel)

• Qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology and/or Sociology is beneficial

A valid DBS with Child Only Workforce registered onto the update service is required in order to secure this job.
