Are you seeking a permanent TA opportunity with a view to career development through in-house training?

Our client school, located between Garstang and Lancaster, has instructed us to source a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a student with severe behavioural difficulties.

The student is new to the school, who have advised that they are looking for someone to re-engage him through sports and other practical activities, whilst building a strong rapport and support network due to his vulnerable nature.

The Head Teacher is interested in candidates who have worked in a PRU / Alternative Provision, worked alongside Young Offenders, Sports Coaches, those who have worked with NEETs, those with an Army background, those who have worked in prisons and MORE! (You don't have to have direct experience in a school, but you MUST have the skill set and knowledge to handle challenging behaviour appropriately and the understanding of pupils who have mental health difficulties.)

The pupil requires nurture, care, fun and guidance from an appropriate mentor / support assistant. You must be 'thick-skinned,' energetic, empathetic and non-judgemental with a can-do attitude. The school have also advised that you must be willing to become fully immersed in school life!

The school would like to meet candidates who have an interest, a passion, the determination, drive and personality ASAP!

You MUST have experience supporting pupils of a challenging nature and be willing to work in the school on a supply basis initially.
