Have you got experience of working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs? I am looking to recruit a specialist teaching assistant who has experience of working with very challenging pupils and the ability to defuse and de-escalate their behaviour, whilst pushing them to reach their learning potential. You will have a strong personality and be able to 'think on your feet' during high pressure situations.
- A school with a number of sites in East Manchester are looking for someone who can supervise and provide particular support for pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
- You will need to assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
- You will also establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual need to promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
- Your role will include encouraging pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
- Part of your responsibility will include setting challenging and demanding expectations and promoting self-esteem and independence.
- You will provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the teacher.
We are looking to recruit someone as soon as possible, due to the nature of the assignment there may be a possibility that a longer term/permanent position may occur.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
